Emily Burkart
Head of School & Early Childhood Lead Teacher
Miss Emily earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Toledo. She holds a non-public teaching certificate from the State of Ohio Department of Education and the American Montessori Credential at the Early Childhood Level.
Emily has eighteen years of experience teaching in Montessori education. Emily has served as an instructor of art, science, and geography for a Montessori Teacher Training Program, as well as a mentor and supervisor to many BGSU pre-service teachers and Montessori teachers in training.
Emily’s wish is that all children could be educated in a Montessori environment because all children want to learn successfully. She believes children come to school with their individual talents and personalities, which should be recognised and celebrated.
Laura Drumm
Elementary Lead Teacher
Miss Laura holds a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences, specifically child and family development, from The Ohio State University. She holds a non-public teaching certificate from the State of Ohio Department of Education and received her Montessori Certification in 2004 from Columbus St. Jo’s program in Lower Elementary (Grades 1-3).
She has 14 years of experience teaching in a Montessori Elementary classroom and 3 years teaching in a traditional preschool program. Miss Laura loves to read, watch football and spend time with her family.
